Here at Beaumont Dental, we welcome children into our practice. We pride ourselves on providing a positive experience at every visit.
You should aim to bring your child for an initial dental appointment once their first milk teeth have started to come through. This will be when they are approximately six months old. After this, check-ups should be once a year, unless otherwise advised by your dentist.
At Beaumont Dental, we are experienced in treating patients of all ages. We do our best to create a positive environment which we hope will put your child at ease. We aim to encourage and nurture rather than enforce, responding to all questions and concerns that your child may have.
Teaching your child how to properly brush their teeth is essential to maintaining their oral health. Begin brushing for them when their first milk teeth appear at around six months of age. Later, progress to supervising them as they begin to brush for themselves.
Brushing should be twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, lasting for around two minutes. Children should spit rather than rinse to make sure the fluoride is effective.
